Round 5

One recent convert to the A/SS cause is Musclecar Matt, who's looking to get his racing courier started with a 6-cylinder Maverick or similar and impost it from the States. At 16, he is constrained by insurance costs and the rest of the costs. And probably a driving license too. Good luck to Matt... and he has kindly given his view of round 5's action. That other young pretender, Boz had arranged to pick up Matt for round 5. You just know how it's going to go don't you...

"Due to Boz's car dying on us, being pulled by the police twice and cursed by two old women, all in the space of about thirty minutes, we arrived at york three hours late on Friday night. With it being my first night, I didn't really know what to expect or what the reaction was going to be from the guys but it was great, they were all really friendly and wouldn't let me buy my own drinks at the bar (cheers Tim and Dave B). So after a late night of drinking at the bar, I woke up Saturday to a lot of rain and little racing. We didn't really do much apart from change Boz's starter motor with Gerry and Brian and then (obviously) at the bar until early Sunday morning."

"But instead of more rain on Sunday, it was red hot and probably one of the best days I've ever had. It was my Graceland! There was some very good racing and some great cars. Even with the car breaking down and the rain for all of Saturday, it had to be one of the best weekends in a long time. So I'd like to say thanks to Boz for the lift and everything else, Tim for the carbs and everyone else for making it such a good weekend!"

Thanks Matt, and don't forget, if there's anything you'd like to contribute to the site, please get in touch and we'll be pleased to post it. let's hear your thoughts, opinions or news from the garage. Hope to hear from you!
