Richard and wife Marjorie Lyon are well known stalwarts of the Pennine Drag Racing Club, Marjorie is usually helping you to sign up and Richard is usually there on the startline. But fortunately, Richard has made the time to run his beautiful Chevy Sedan in A/SS.

Richard bought the car in 1991, after It had just been imported from Virginia. After getting it registered, it actually served duty at the track once or twice as tow car for Richard's ' Ol' Timer' slingshot he was running at the time. "Then, says Richard, "I decided it needed at bit of tidying up. 15 years later, it was tidy and back on the road!

"It's basically a stock 283 with the original cast iron 2-speed Powerglide -which is heavy, if in doubt check with Dave Billadeau! It has an Edelbrock carb and intake with electronic ignition." Discs brakes on the front with a Danchuk twin-circuit power brake kit, an FM radio with CD autochanger and it ran a best of 18.9 in May 2009."

Rumours abound that Richard plans on fitting a 350ci and a better trans, but Marjorie may have plans on Richard fitting a new kitchen and a better dishwasher.
