Tumbleweed shoots across East Yorkshire

'Tumbleweed' is the new short film by award winning filmmakers Sam Donovan and Andrew Yerlett and cinematographer Fabian Wagner (BBC's Hustle & Ashes to Ashes): "A glimpse into the world of American muscle cars in the UK was all it took to persuade us to delve deeper. What we found blew us away; power, emotions, relationships, excitement and passion. It's almost cinematic in scope. We desperately want to celebrate that world and, taking films like Vanishing Point and Two Lane Black Top as our cue, we're going to do just that and with a British twist..."

And if you want your car to be a movie star in this good feeling story celebrating muscle cars, there's an entry level to get in the movie of just £250 and from £500 you can start company sponsorship.

Sounds fair enough! "But we can't do it without you! Tumbleweed will be a funny, touching and high octane film that will have audiences left on the edges of their seat and wanting more. But we need your help...

"To make this film, we need £15k which we are raising through a variety of sources –filmmakers themselves, friends and family, and sponsorship. We are ideally looking for several key sponsors to get involved..." But if you want the kick of seeing your car in the movie, you can buy that too!

"The film will not only act as a pilot for a feature film but will be sent around the world on the film festival circuit before being played on the internet. The film makers' aim to do for the muscle car what Guy Ritchie and Tony Scott did for BMW with their short films. For us to get the feature film made and to help advertise the popularity of muscle cars in the UK, we need to make 'Tumbleweed' the short film, which will be shot mid September 2009 in the East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire flat lands."

We'll keep you informed of any updates, but click here for more information. Current update is there is no update! Rather boringly, I contacted the producer recently, but no response...

As yet.
